The society aims to unite all critics who share a common goal, to foster an independent spirit of film criticism, to encourage critical writing on Hong Kong cinema from the perspective of culture and art, and to reaffirm the achievements of Hong Kong cinema. The society concerns itself with government cultural policies. We publish an annual journal of daily reviews of Hong Kong films and present the HK Film Critics Society Awards annually. In promoting film education, we join forces with other groups to offer courses on film appreciation.
